Cage Setup:
Crested geckos are arboreal species, so the height of an enclosure is important.
Hiding places, both on the ground and up towards the cage should be provided.
For a naturalistic setup, I use an organic soil/peat mixture for the substrate. Corkbark and many branches should be arranged so geckos will have access both vertical and horizontal space.
Artificial or live plants such as Ficus can be used.
For a more economical setup, I use Paper towel and egg carton flats as substrate. Arranged the egg cartons so vertical and horizontal space is provided. Also put some branches in the enclosure as well. I recommend the simpler setup for hatchlings.
Diets:
I feed varied diets of dusted / supplemented insects (crickets, roaches, waxworms, silkworms).
I mixed baby food (fruits flavoured) with CGD Diets, and sometimes I add calcium/vitamin supplement to the mixed diets.
Note: Be careful of leftover Crickets, it could bite and kill your young geckos. I usually put a little bit of cricket food (orange cube) inside geckos enclosure.
Water:
I spray geckos enclosures with water twice daily (afternoon & night time). You should also provide a shallow water dish.
